Build the right relationships to accomplish common goals
Grow and empower new leaders around you
Apply coaching and listening skills to strengthen your leadership
We will reframe these challenges and help you create a leadership style that works for you and that allows you to start leading from any position today.
Learning will happen in 6 live sessions of 90 minutes (Tuesdays at 10am PST starting on September 21) and in an ongoing learning community forum.
Week 1 - Business Impact & the North Star Model

During these six weeks, we will co-create a 3-part personalized roadmap for your professional leadership journey and beyond. Jim and Tutti will share the and lead a discussion around the most common issues leaders face in a business context and use this discussion to frame what matters most for each individual leader. We will share the North Star leadership model starting with me in the middle because leadership starts with me. The three points of the star show aspects of leadership across projects, people, and the work organization.
Week 2 - Focus on Me

In Week 2, we will start the journey with an intense focus on you and how who you are impacts the model and how it impacts you.
Week 3 - Projects
Oct 5 2021, 10am PST
We will continue our exploration of you during the first part of Week 3, and then we will work through the skills you bring and are missing in dealing with the projects and processes that are most important to you.
Week 4 - People
Oct 12 2021, 10am PST
In week 4, and then we will work through the skills you bring and are missing in dealing with people, focusing on the difficult people in your work life and how to improve overall relationships. Using the Leadership North Star, we’ll help you uncover your strengths and build a roadmap to get additional skills you need.
Week 5 - Organization

During week 5, we will use the Leadership North Star to help you explore your leaderships skills in relationship to teams, organizations, or communities you lead or wish to your work org. You may be an individual contributor, team lead or manage manage, however, you can lead from any position. Leadership spans both direct control and indirect influence. Finally, we will also begin to explore how the context in which you work influences you.
Week 6 - Roadmap to Success

In this final week, we will help you design your personal roadmap for professional leadership in 2021 and beyond using your unique strengths and the how you lead from any position in an organization.

Jim Herman
Jim is a raconteur, natty dresser, and general one-man wrecking machine. In his 28-year long diplomatic career, he caused more havoc around the world than any one person ought to. Despite being barely able to manage himself, he led teams of up to 1,000 people in complex operations ranging from IT design and implementation to U.S. consular operations in India.
